What Simple Vid is

Simple Vid is a tool that assembles photo and video files you send into a single MP4. It is operated as a sole-proprietor service by Brett Michaelis.

What we collect

  • Account information. Your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your name and profile photo. Used only to identify your account and deliver transactional emails.
  • Project content. Photos, video clips, and audio files you email or upload are stored in Cloudflare R2 object storage, keyed by a SHA-256 content hash. They are not shared with anyone and are not used to train any model.
  • Intake metadata. Sender email addresses, email subjects, attachment counts, and processing outcomes are logged to identify delivery issues. Logs are retained for 90 days.
  • Render output. Finished MP4 files are stored in Cloudflare R2 and accessible only to the project owner via a signed URL.

What we do not do

  • Sell or share your data with third parties.
  • Use your content for advertising or model training.
  • Access your files except to process a render you initiated or to diagnose a reported problem.

Third-party services

  • Cloudflare — object storage (R2) and Worker compute. Cloudflare may retain infrastructure-level logs per their own policy.
  • Neon — Postgres database hosting account metadata and project state.
  • Resend — transactional email delivery (magic links, welcome replies).
  • GitHub Actions — render pipeline execution. Project source files are temporarily downloaded to a GitHub-hosted runner during rendering and deleted on job completion.
  • Vercel — web application hosting.

Your rights

You can delete your project at any time from the project settings page (when the delete action is available). To request deletion of your account or any stored content before that feature ships, email brett.michaelis@gmail.com.
